Everyone is being so nice to me about my sweater! Thank you, I’m glad you all like it so much! I’ll post more pictures when the whole costume is done.
The purple sweater I found at a thrift shop, luckily enough! The rainbow and letters I made by painting onto canvas and then cutting them out and stitching them on to the sweater with matching embroidery thread. The clouds and stars are made out of this white shiny material that was once a purse I also found at the thrift store and cut apart. Then I painted on some of the stars to make them different colours and added some glitter to them and the rainbow to make it all extra shiny and wonderful! As for how it lights up, I got some EL wire from here: http://www.adafruit.com/products/546 It’s basically a bendy wire that has a battery pack that lights up! So I just bent it around the letters on the shirt and sewed it on to stay in place with invisible plastic thread. And that’s basically how I did it!
